Glasshoughton Welfare players were left kicking their heels on Saturday when their scheduled match against Maltby Main was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

They would have preferred the game on as opponents Maltby are in the lower half of the league with Glasshoughton and the game on paper at least was winnable.

Welfare now face a tough end to January as despite all their remaining games in the month being at home they entertain league leaders Tadcaster Albion this Saturday (3pm) and fourth-placed Staveley MW the following Saturday (3pm), with in between, next Tuesday, a fourth round NCE League Cup tie against AFC Mansfield (7.45pm). Although they are Division One opposition they are currently going well and pushing for promotion so will arrive at Leeds Road full of confidence against a side second from bottom in the Premier.
