Unbeaten Rock are confirmed as champions

A 1-0 success against Durkar FC courtesy of a Shaun Tomlinson goal confirmed Rock as champions and they remain unbeaten with a game still to play.

If they can defeat Royston Cross in their final league game this Saturday they will finish with a remarkable 100 per cent record as they have won all 21 of their matches so far in the division in the 2016-17 season.

They are also contesting the Jim Callaghan Cup final against Royston Cross, who have been their closest challengers all season and will finish as runners-up barring a footballing miracle in the remaining week.

FC Prince look like being edged out of the second promotion spot after they suffered a narrow defeat to champions Rock in midweek.

A single goal by Jamie Simpson gave Rock a 1-0 victory and left Prince in third place, six points behind Royston Cross.

They still have two league games left, but must win both and hope their rivals lose their last match and then somehow overcome a plus 26 goal difference deficit.

Pontefract Sports & Social have narrowly avoided finishing in the bottom two in Division One, finishing a point ahead of Snydale Athletic and four above Nostell MW.
