Kippax Welfare CC won through to the final of the Wetherby League’s Fred Fleetwood Cup when they beat Garforth Parish Church by seven wickets on Sunday.
They will now meet Barwick in Elmet in the final at Barwick’s ground on Sunday, August 7.
A good effort in the field paved the way for the semi-final victory with Zaf Iqbal, Imran Mohammed Pandor, Bashir Khalifa and Zuber Patel all taking two wickets each as Garforth were kept to 129-9.
Kippax then knocked the runs off comfortably with Wasim Patel hitting 63, Iqbal 38 not out and Syed Hussain 20.
Kippax went level on top of Division Three when they were given a walkover win as opponents Shadwell A conceded their scheduled game last Saturday.
On a wet day only Kippax and Crompark of the leading teams were able to pick up winning points and they are now level in the top two places.
Ledsham’s promotion hopes in Division Two suffered a blow as they lost by 38 runs to Long Marston.
Johnny Smales hit 32 with the bat and took 3-37 with the ball, but Ledsham were all out for 108 in reply to 146-9. Joshua Ware also claimed 3-23 and Andrew Kelly 2-18 for Ledsham who stay in second despite the defeat.
