CASTLEFORD professional boxer Luke ‘Lionheart’ Robinson is preparing for the fight of his life in Derby on March 11.
Robinson, 23, will take on 30-year-old Matty Hainy for the British Masters middleweight title.
Hainey, from Derby, is a Midlands Area Super-middleweight champion who is ranked number nine in the official rankings. The former kickboxer defeated British title contender Tony Hill and has gone the title distance three times.
Robinson (pictured) is more than happy as underdog against Hainy.
He said: “I have waited for a shot at a title. If I am to win it, it will be the hard way.
“I know that Hainy is like me, an old school come forward fighter, so fans are in for a treat. After going down to London to beat Erick Ochieng I have no fear of fighting in front of Hainy’s fans.”
Robinson thanked his manager Mark Bateson for getting him the title shot and also local people who have supported him over the last six years from the amateur to professional ranks.
Robinson will be training hard for the next seven weeks in preparation for his biggest challenge.
