CASTLEFORD’S professional cruiserweight boxer Nathan Owens (pictured) is back in action at the Newbridge Leisure Centre, Halifax on Saturday.

Owens looks to have taken on another tough assignment in facing Uganda-born Moses Matovu, who now fights out of Bangor, Northern Ireland.

Moses has been fighting in America and training alongside former world champion James Toney and current world champion Floyd Mayweather.

But Owens believes that his preparation has been done and is looking forward to the fight.

He said: “It couldn’t come soon enough for me, I’m ready, fired up and just want to get this job out of the way.

“I know he’s very tough and comes with lots of experience. This will be a very good test for me and I’m looking forward to the challenge.

“I’ve been putting sparring partners through tough rounds and intend to do the same to Moses”.

Owens’ manager and coach Keith Walker believes this could be the hardest test so far for Nathan due to the experience Moses will have gained in his training.

He added: “Taking all this into consideration and the preparation Nathan’s gone through I predict Owens will be once again flying the flag for Castleford and a good win will only do.”
