LOCAL athlete Lucy Holmes was in outstanding form at the Yorkshire Combined Events Championships at Leeds Carnegie Athletics Stadium last weekend.
Twenty-year-old Lucy, from Ferrybridge, took part in her first ever heptathlon competition.
Amassing a total of 3,121 points over the two days, Lucy became the Senior Women’s Yorkshire Champion.
The event consists of 100 metres hurdles, high jump, shot putt and 200 metres on the first day and long jump, javelin and 800 metres on the second day.
Lucy’s total puts in her at number 10 in the British rankings for her age group (under 23s).
Lucy is studying sport and exercise science at Hull University.
