League leaders Leicester too strong for Pontefract

Pontefract Squash Club lost 4-1 at home to Premier League Division A leaders Everards Leicester last night (Tuesday).

Leicester emulated the city’s Premier Division football team by opening up a gap at the top of the league.

Fiona Moverley beat Coline Aumard 3-0 to put Pontefract ahead but Sam Wileman, Lee Beachill and Simon Parke all lost 3-0 against Darren Lewis, Angus Gillams and Nafiizwan Adnan respectively.

In the top-string match, Pontefract’s Laurens Jan Anjema, the Dutch number one, took a 2-1 lead against Daryl Selby before eventually losing 3-2.
