Amateur golfer Thomas Hough from Pontefract won the Sytner North Audi Invitational tournament staged at the Oulton Hall GC with a score of 39 points in the Stableford rules matches over 18 holes.
The top qualifiers from this event will now pair up in a regional final at Rockliffe Hall, County Durham, on Thursday, July 28.
The one-day qualifying competition, supported by Audi Centres in Bradford, Huddersfield, Harrogate, Leeds and Wakefield, was one of almost 40 Audi quattro Cup Invitational events being staged throughout the UK. Seven regional finals are held in July with the top 18 pairs going forward in to the Audi quattro Cup UK final at Bowood Golf and Country Club near Calne, Wiltshire, on September 8.
Ultimately two pairs representing Great Britain compete in the Audi quattro Cup world final staged at the Real Club de Golf El Prat in Barcelona, Spain, in October.
The Audi quattro Cup, being run for the 26th year, is the world’s largest amateur golf competition with almost 100,000 players from over 50 countries competing.
