Pontefract’s James Willstrop reached the last 16 in the Mens World Squash Championships at Bellevue, Washington, last night (Tuesday).
Former world number one Willstrop beat long term Pontefract teammate and friend Saurav Ghosal in the second round.
Ex-Ackworth School pupil Willstrop came out on top 3-0 in 41 minutes, winning all three games 11-7.
He now plays current world number one Mohamed Elshorbagy, the number one seed, in the next round.
Ghosal tweeted: “James too good and me not so good. Time to reflect for a few days and take it all in.”
