POPI Burton reclaimed the British schoolgirl boxing title in Manchester on Saturday.
The 16-year-old Knottingley High School pupil, who is a member of Knottingley’s SYD Ringside Boxing Club, beat previously undefeated Colchester fighter Neve Barton.
Popi (pictured) won the first two rounds convincingly and retained control in the final round to win 20-16 on points in the class five 56 to 58 kilos section. She first won the British championship in 2010 but then lost the title before regaining it last weekend.
Popi said: “I would like to thank my sponsors Dovecote Park, of Stapleton, and all my friends and family for their support.”
