Jasmine Bate of Pontefract Athletics Club was in record breaking form at Saturday’s West Yorkshire Track and Field League meeting at Wakefield and also at the York Summer League Series meeting next day.
In the West Yorkshire League meeting, Jasmine won the under 13 girls discus, setting a club record of 22.52 metres.
She also won the shot putt with a personal best of 8.27 metres and finished a close second in the 70 metres hurdles in 12.40 seconds.
In the York meeting on the following day, Jasmine won the under 13 girls long jump, setting a club record of 4.33 metres.
She also won the shot putt, improving her personal best to 8.34 metres and she came second in the high jump, equalling her personal best of 1.40 metres.
In the West Yorkshire League meeting, Rebecca Bell was a close second to Jasmine in the shot putt, heaving the shot beyond the eight metres mark for the first time with a throw of 8.19 metres.
Isabelle Stones made it a clean sweep for the Pontefract club by taking third place in the shot putt with 7.75 metres.
Rebecca also ran well in the 70 metres hurdles to finish third in 12.70 seconds.
Isabelle came third in the 80 metres sprint race in 11.79 seconds.
Emily Plimmer came second in the under 13 girls 800 metres in two minutes 37.46 seconds and Logan Askham was third in the under 11 boys long jump with 3.23 metres.
Cameron Howes won the under 15 boys high jump, equalling the club record of 1.60 metres.
He also won the 80 metres hurdles in 13.70 seconds and was third in the shot putt with 7.36 metres, just behind his club colleague, Robert Bate, who was second with 8.20 metres.
Caitlin Howes came third in the under 11 girls shot putt with 4.79 metres.
Will Carter won the under 20 men’s 1,500 metres in five minutes 19.12 seconds.
He was also second in the shot putt with 9.42 metres and second in the hammer with 19.75 metres.
Richard Howes and Andrew Clegg had a close tussle in the senior men’s shot putt.
Richard finished second with 8.10 metres and Andrew was just one centimetre behind him in third place with 8.09 metres.
This was the last of the six league meetings in the West Yorkshire League and Pontefract Athletics Club finished the season in fifth place out of the eight clubs in the Premier Division.
Cameron Howes was the overall winner of the individual points table in the under 15 boys age group.
Jasmine Bate finished second in the under 13 girls points table with Will Carter second in the under 20 men’s age group.
Sam Schofield finished third in the under 11 boys points table with Caitlin Howes third in the under 11 girls age group.
On the road running side, Christine McCarthy produced another national standard performance in the San Fransisco Marathon in America.
Christine finished 34th out of more than 2,000 in the women’s race and first woman over 55 in three hours 28 minutes 47 seconds.
Faye Lightowler was the winner of the women’s race in last Saturday’s Pontefract Park Run.
She finished fifth overall out of 189 and setting a club record for the 5K distance for women over 35 with 19 minutes 14 seconds.
