Six of the best in the British finals

Gymnasts from Featherstone-based Jesters Sports Acro (pictured) excelled in pairs routines and tumbling in a recent schools competition.

It saw the club have six gymnasts through to the British Schools finals at Stoke on Trent on May 10 and 11.

Annie Pitts and Rosie Raybould from Larks Hill School, Pontefract, won gold in the under 11 pairs. They now represent their school in the final.

Maisie Dimmock and Emily Broom from Carleton Park won bronze medals in the same group.

Anya Battye, from The Rookeries Junior and Infant School, Pontefract, won gold in under 11 tumbling, while Brooke Bowen from Willow Green Academy, Ferrybridge, won bronze in the same group.

Reilley Blankensee and Joseph Nellist, from The Rookeries School, won gold medals in men’s under 11 pairs. They are in the finals along with Anya Battye.

Faye Skidmore, representing the Kings High School, Pontefract, won silver in under 19 tumbling. She is now also in the British schools tumbling finals.

Rhianna Watson representing Carleton Community High school won bronze.

The club entered 15 gymnasts in the competition and 10 won medals, which is their best achievement so far.
