PONTEFRACT Athletics Club’s Faye Lightowler was in outstanding form in the Askern 10 mile road race.
She won the women’s race by more than four minutes and finished 15th overall in a field of 317 finishers.
Faye’s winning time of 60 minutes 13 seconds was almost averaging six minutes per mile and it enhanced her own Pontefract club record by nearly one minute.
It also moved her up to 11th place in this year’s UK rankings for senior women in the 10 mile event.
In the Wakefield track and field open meeting, Yorck Newrick won the under 15 boys shot putt with 11.92 metres and Cameron Howes won the under 17 men’s high jump with 1.70 metres.
Logan Askham won the under 13 boys 800 metres in two minutes 40.35 seconds and he also won the high jump with 1.30 metres. Logan was also second in the shot putt with 6.65 metres, which gave him a personal best in all three of his events.
Madison Toddington came second in the under 11 girls shot putt with 4.33 metres and Caitlin Howes was second in the under 13 girls high jump with 1.25 metres.
Harrison Marsh finished second in the under 13 boys 100 metres in 14.15 seconds.
