Highly promising Castleford darts player Cameron Hinchcliffe is aiming for the top.

He plays for Yorkshire youth under 21s and was also recently selected to play for the Yorkshire men’s B squad where he plays with players such as Jamie Wilson, Scott Waites and Martin Atkins.

Eighteen-year-old Cameron enters all the PDC youth tournaments and also plays in the Bradford darts promotions.

In the four years he has been playing darts, he already made a name for himself.

He won the Yorkshire Classic in 2014 and this qualified him for Winmau World Masters in which he was a semi-finalist .

Cameron was also selected to play for Northern England in a tournament in Ireland.

In this year’s first PDC youth tournament, he reached the last 16 in two of the four events. He is also ranked 19th out of 200 in the world between the ages 16 and 23.

Cameron currently has three sponsors, two of which are for his equipment which includes darts. One is Southampton-based Darts Performance Centre and another is L Style who are from Japan.

His third sponsor who gives him financial backing is his manager Chris Clegg who owns Protege Events.

Cameron is currently involved in a TV show with other players run by Protege Events. It is called Darts Factor and will be a series shown on Sky Showcase channel 192 for up to12 weeks, starting yesterday (May 20).
