Featherstone sign Darcy Lussick from Salford Red Devils
FEATHERSTONE ROVERS have signed Darcy Lussick from Salford Red Devils on an initial two-week loan.
Lussick joins James Webster s side from the Devils having previously played for the Toronto Wolfpack in Super League and the Championship.
The 32-year-old Australian joined the Wolfpack in 2018 from NRL side Manly Sea Eagles. He played over 100 NRL games for both the Sea Eagles and Parramatta Eels.
Lussick made 43 appearances for the Toronto Wolfpack including their Million Pound Game win over Featherstone in 2019.
"I'm really excited to be joining such a strong club and contributing as best as I can. I can't wait to get out there and play my first game for the Rovers," said Lussick.
The addition will give head coach Webster more options in the coming weeks after he had just 19 players available for yesterday's 1895 Cup semi-final win over Widnes Vikings.
Webster added: "Darcy will bring some added depth to an area where we are currently a bit thin.
"With James Harrison, Jack Bussey, Brett Ferres, and Dale Ferguson all unavailable as well as Luke Cooper just coming back from injury, it's added a lot of extra pressure on our other middles.
"Obviously Darcy has played at a high level in both the NRL and Super League and we look forward to him joining us for the next two weeks."
