Castleford’s Phantoms Kickboxing Club came away with a bagful of medals after some terrific performances at the WTKA Best Of British Championships and the 2016 World Championship qualifier.

Phantoms took eight fighters to Sheffield for a tough championships with some of them in their first tournament.

All the fighters did fantastic on the day and fought with a high skill level against more experienced opponents with several fighting above their weight in extra categories.

All the Castleford club members finished in the medals with 12 in total brought home.

All the fighters have now made the British Team and will start their intense training for the 2016 World Championships.

Medal winners in the junior categories (pictured right) were Natalie Haghighi (silver); Bailey Willis (two golds); Aaron Haigh (gold and silver); Drew Pyper (two silvers); and Jay Ward (gold and silver).

Adult fighters from the Castleford club to enjoy success were Bethany Crawford, who won a gold medal and Laura Robson and Matt Taylor who brought home silvers.
