Bag pack gives club big boost

The club has been able to buy £2,500 of new equipment as a result of a bag pack at Asda’s Glasshoughton supermarket.

The bag pack raised £3,850 on the weekend before Christmas.

The club thanked Asda and all its customers for contributing to the collection and enabling over 250 kids at the club to enjoy their sport even more.

In addition to the new equipment, Lock Lane have also purchased an automated emergency defibrillator (AED) courtesy of a donation of £1,000 from the union Unite.

It gives everyone at the club - both rugby and sports centre - peace of mind should they ever face a situation that requires its use.

The club now has 12 junior teams from under seven to under 18 and an open age team that plays in the National Conference League Premier Division. Theydare looking at running an open-age second team once the season gets under way in March. The club is always on the look out for new sponsors as it continues to grow and as costs increase.
