Castleford Academy and Royal Grammar School High Wycombe will take centre stage at Wembley Stadium on Saturday .
They will contest the year seven RL Champion Schools final (1.05pm).
The match is the traditional curtain-raiser to the Tetley’s Challenge Cup final between Hull FC and Wigan Warriors. The winners will be presented with the Steven Mullaney Memorial Trophy in memory of a player who starred in the 1986 final for Wakefield Schools.
It will be the fourth time in the last seven years that Castleford have played in the Wembley curtain-raiser. They are sponsored this year by Dovecote Park Limited.
Cas were pipped 24-22 by South of England opponents Howard of Effingham in last year’s thrilling final.
Castleford are the only school to have two representatives in the 2013 Champion Schools finals. Their year 10 girls side will face Abraham Guest of Wigan in tomorrow’s (Friday) final at Richmond Athletic Association (4.20pm). The Cas team are bidding to win their fourth consecutive National Cup competition.
