Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Trinity contract offers unveiled

Castleford Tigers have offered a new deal to four players who are out of contract at the end of this season and Wakefield Trinity have one player in a similar situation.

A list of full-time players whose deal ends this autumn has been circulated to all clubs by the Rugby Football League.

The document confirms Castleford have offered terms to James Clare, Tyla Hepi, Oliver Holmes and Jacques O’Neill; Joe Summers is “not yet determined” and no offer has been made to Matt Cook, Mike McMeeken, Junior Moors, Jack Sanderson, Robbie Storey and Calum Turner.

McMeeken is poised to join Catalans Dragons for 2021, though that deal has not been confirmed.

Wakefield have offered a new contract to Lee Kershaw, but he rejected their terms last month.

Ryan Atkins, Titus Gawze, Ben Jones-Bishop, Danny Kirmond and Craig Kopczak are “not yet determined”.

George King - who has been linked with Hull KR and Bradford-bound Danny Brough are listed as “no offer”

Meanwhile, ex-Wakefield and Castleford forward Brett Ferres, who joined Featherstone Rovers from Leeds Rhinos ahead of this season, has re-signed until the end of 2021.
