Watts received a one-game penalty notice from the RFL’s match review panel after being charged with Grade B dangerous contact in last Saturday’s Challenge Cup quarter-final win over Salford Red Devils.

Watts was sin-binned for the challenge on Salford’s Elijah Taylor.

Speaking after the game, Tigers coach Daryl Powell said he “didn’t have a massive argument” with the yellow card.

He said: “Wattsy’s a little bit late, but it’s not a shoulder charge.

“I think it was milked a bit, I don’t think there was that much in it, but you don’t want late plays on blokes who’ve passed the ball.

"I think the consistency on that will be interesting.

"I think Wattsy will probably learn from that.”

But the subsequent suspension was not well received by Watts, whose Twitter accounted noted: "Game's on its a*** if that's a one match ban."

No further action was taken against Gareth O’Brien following his sin-binning for a professional foul.

Salford’s Taylor was issued with two cautions for dangerous contact, but not suspended.

Warrington Wolves’ Jack Hughes and Catalans Dragons’ Gil Dudson both received a one-match penalty notice for grade B dangerous contact in their sides’ quarter-final meeting.

Wigan’s Liam Farrell was not banned for a grade A high tackle against Hull.

Other cautions went to Dudson (other contrary behaviour, kicking out), plus Sam Powell (Wigan) and Jack Brown (Hull) for dangerous contact.
