MARTIN Aspinwall is set to make his Castleford Tigers debut against his old club Huddersfield Giants in tomorrow’s (Saturday) Super League clash at Probiz Coliseum.
Aspinwall (pictured) has been named in Castleford’s squad in place of Steve Snatch who is serving a one-match ban.
Ryan McGoldrick (knee injury) has again been ruled out and Castleford will also check on the fitness of Ryan Hudson.
Hudson took a bang on the shoulder early on in the Millennium Magic game against Wakefield and did not return to the pitch after coming off in the tenth minute.
He has been receiving treatment this week.
England Academy captain Adam Milner will deputise at hooker if Hudson does not recover in time.
Tigers coach Terry Matterson said: “We are keeping our fingers crossed that Ryan Hudson will be all right for Saturday.
“We are hopeful Nick Fozzard will be available after he had a bit of a groin strain. It was nothing serious, but we didn’t want to risk him first game when we had Paul Jackson ready to play.
Matterson is also weighing up whether to make any further changes to his team with Samoan centre Willie Isa disappointed not to make the starting line-up against Wakefield.
Said Matterson: “I’m going to have a look at the opposition before deciding the team.
“I wasn’t completely satisfied by the performance against Wakefield so we’ll have a look and see if we can improve the squad. If we can’t we won’t make any changes.”
Castleford’s 19-man squad to face Huddersfield is:
Mathers, Dixon, Youngquest, Arundel, Chase, Orr, Jackson, Hudson, Huby, Emmitt, Ferres, Jones, Walker, Milner, Isa, Fozzard, Aspinwall, Holmes, Widders.
