WITH the extended early bird membership deadline fast approaching at midnight tonight Castleford Tigers chief executive Steve Ferres has urged fans to ask friends and family members to support the club in 2013.

With 3,253 members, the club still has a long way to go to reach the 5,000 target and the Tigers chief is keen to point out that this ambitious goal is integral to the club’s success for next year and beyond.

He said, “A new or redeveloped stadium continues to be a longer term prospect in these trying economic times which means we can no longer ignore the considerable work that is required to maintain the current stadium.

“This work is absolutely necessary and will require substantial funds to execute but it will only serve to keep us at the same point. We are also severely under resourced, meaning it is a continued struggle to effectively deliver events and activity that will drive more revenue to the club.

“I would like to personally thank each and every fan who has signed up as a member in 2013. Your support means so much to us but the 5,000 target was set for a reason and we really do need your help in asking friends and family members to get behind us too.

“There is no doubt our momentum has slowed and it is important we reach out beyond our loyal fans to the people of Castleford who care about maintaining a community club that is central to the town’s heritage.”

Prices for Tigers membership start at £42 for juniors and £50 for adults until Monday, December 31. To sign up visit, call 01977 555336 or visit the club shop in Carlton Lanes.
