Castleford Tigers are gearing themselves up for Daryl Clark’s first return to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle as a Warrington Wolves player.

The reigning Man of Steel is likely to be in the Wolves squad for Sunday’s final game of the regular season after joining Warrington from Cas at the end of last season.

Clark has already played against his hometown club, but ended on the losing side with the Tigers winning 22-14 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in April.

Cas are looking to do the double, but head coach Daryl Powell acknowledged they will have to deal with the player who performed so well on this ground in a Tigers shirt.

He told the Express: “Obviously we know Daryl Clark’s a good player and we’ve got to make sure he doesn’t get the opportunities he wants with his running game.

“I think Dwyer’s playing well for them as well so looking after the ruck area is going to be important.

“Making sure we are nice and tidy there, get all our systems in place and get our markers right is going to be key on Clarky.

“That’s where he really profits so all the little things we practice we’ve got to be good at.”

Powell is looking for another big display from his own impressive young hooker with Adam Milner again out to prove his point against his opposite number with who he shared a dressing room for the previous four years.

He said: “Adam Milner was great at their place. It was one of his best games of the season.

“You could see he was highly motivated playing against Clarky.

“He’s the reigning Man of Steel and obviously was a wonderful player for Castleford so I can see exactly why Adz was highly motivated and I am pretty confident he will be again.”
