Castleford Tigers are gearing up for up to two months without star winger Justin Carney following the elbow injury he picked up in last Saturday’s game against Hull KR.
Carney’s injury is not as bad as first feared when initial estimates said he could be out for the season, but he still needs an operation.
The Australian saw his consultant yesterday with the results being the best possible scenario:
Head coach Daryl Powell explained: “Justin needs an operation and will be out for six to eight weeks.
“It’s tough to take, but is probably the best case scenario we could have expected and hope to get a key strike weapon back asap.”
