Castleford Tigers fans were able to quiz the club’s coaching staff on a variety of subjects when the supporters club welcomed Daryl Powell, Danny Orr, Ben Cooper and Matt Crowther to their latest event.
The second of CTSC’s monthly events of 2015 took place at the WSTS Suite at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle and gave a chance to meet the coaches and find out about latest developments at the club.
A review of the close season took place and each guest gave their thoughts, while many questions from the floor were answered in an entertaining and honest way by all the coaches.
Subjects covered included training, fitness, team bonding, facilities, new signings, the league structure, referees, youth development, injuries and attitude of the players.
In the second part of the evening head coach Powell was asked what he would like the CTSC to base its fund raising around this year to help the club.
He said that on a recent visit to Bath Rugby Union club they had seen video surveillance equipment that could be used in training, allowing each player to view his own performance and to improve his game.
The equipment is mobile and can be used at height to produce a view of defence and attack, highlighting the structure of the team and individuals.
“Most of the top teams have the equipment, so it’s our aim is to provide this equipment to the Tigers,” said CTSC secretary Paul Burns-Williamson.
“I would like to thank Daryl, Danny, Ben and Matt for attending and the 60 fans, who helped us raise a fantastic £198 on the night.
“Our next event is on Tuesday, March 10 when we have a meet the directors evening.”
