Castleford Tigers star Andy Lynch reckons the team are now focused on making sure they round off their great campaign so far with a Grand Final appearance.
With celebrations on winning the League Leaders’ Shield over for now, the Tigers have got back down to work this week after going on a two-day training camp in Newcastle and are ready to go again.
Lynch said: “You’ve got to enjoy a night like that, we’ve achieved something special. But it was a case of a few days off then straight back into the grind because we have got four massive Super 8s games to go before the semi-final.
“We need to play well in those four games to be at our peak for the semi-final.
“You can’t go into a semi off form, you need to hit the ground running.
“Every team we’ve still to play has got something to play for so it’s not going to be an easy ride from now until the 28th and the semi-final. We’ve got to be on every week and perform as well as we can do.”
Lynch is expecting a tough test in their return to action at Huddersfield on Friday.
He added: “Huddersfield have come into some form and they showed that against Hull when they scored some good tries so it’s going to be tough for us on Friday.
“They are looking to get in the top four so will be a big test.
“You can’t afford to take your foot off the gas. It’s proved this year that if you do that you end up losing.
“We’ve got to give an 80-minute performance this week and then build into next week.
“It’s an exciting challenge for us to keep that momentum going now.”
