Castleford Tigers are set to find out the extent of the injury suffered by in-form winger Denny Solomona in the game at Wakefield on Sunday after he undergoes a scan today.

Solomona suffered an ankle injury in the 58-20 win at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium and was unable to continue the scoring run that had seen him score 13 tries in six games.

Head coach Daryl Powell said: “His foot’s in a [protective] boot, but we’ll know more about how long he’s going to be out for after the scan.”

Powell said Tigers came through Sunday’s game with no other major injury concerns.

While losing Solomona would be a blow the Cas boss is confident Tigers can cope as they have Ashley Gibson and youngster Ash Robson, who can play wing.

James Clare and Michael Channing, who have also played on the wing, have been featuring on dual-registration for York City Knights and the transfer deadline is on Friday so Cas will have to decide whether to recall them, along with another dual-registration player Jordan Howden, or allow them to continue for the rest of the season at York.

Clare, however, had been linked with a move to Bradford Bulls before the injury to Solomona.
