THE Pontefract & Castleford Express has teamed up with the RFL to offer one youngster the chance to be a mascot for Castleford Tigers when they face arch rivals Leeds Rhinos at the Dacia Magic Weekend next month.

Daryl Powell’s men will take on the Rhinos in the final game of Magic Weekend’s opening day, Saturday, May 19, at Newcastle’s St James’ Park and one of our young readers can be there to lead out the team if they are a lucky winner of our competition.

The prize on offer will also include four weekend reserved tickets, worth more than £200.

Please note the prize is open to children aged from seven to nine. The RFL will provide a t-shirt to be worn on the day, but the winner will need his or her own shorts, socks and boots.

The Dacia Magic Weekend is set to be one of the highlights of the Betfred Super League season again and will begin for the first time with a Championship clash with Toronto Wolfpack taking on Toulouse Olympique (12.45pm). Widnes Vikings then take on St Helens (3pm) before Wigan Warriors face Warrington Wolves (5.15pm) and the Tigers kick-off against the Rhinos at 7.30pm.

On the Sunday, it is Salford Red Devils v Catalans Dragons (1pm), Wakefield Trinity v Huddersfield Giants (3.15pm) and Hull FC v Hull KR (5.30pm).

To be in with a chance of your child being one of Castleford’s mascots against Leeds, simply answer the following question:

Who is Castleford Tigers’ captain?

Email your answer to tony.harber@jpress.co.uk (with Magic Weekend Competition in the subject heading) and please include your name, address and daytime telephone number. Closing date for entries is 5pm on Wednesday, April 25.

Tickets for the Dacia Magic Weekend are available from £25 and can be purchased by visiting rugby-league.com/tickets or by calling the Rugby League ticket hotline on 0844 856 1113 (calls cost 7p plus your network connection).
