Castleford Tigers have changed the date of their 2016 Super League home fixture against St Helens.

The fame was originally planned to take place the Mend-A-Hose Jungle at 8pm on Friday, April 29, but will now be played two days later on Sunday, May 1, with a 3.30pm kick-off time.

Explaining the reason for the change, Tigers chief executive Steve Gill said: “We realise how important Sunday games are to our fans and when the opportunity came up to make the change we knew it was the right thing to do.

“We’ve had some great games against St Helens here at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle this year and we can’t wait to meet them again in the 2016 season.”

Eight of the Tigers home games in the 2016 regular Super League season will now take place on Sundays when Castleford have traditionally attracted their biggest crowds in recent years.
