A new date has been confirmed Castleford Tigers’ away Betfred Super League fixture with Hull KR.
The match was originally due to be played on Thursday, March 1, but had to be postponed due to adverse weather conditions and a new date of Wednesday, June 13 had been arranged. This would have seen both clubs play each other twice in the same week with the home fixture taking place on Sunday, June 17.
But now both clubs have been knocked out of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup the decision has been made to move the away game forward to Friday, June 1, with an 8pm kick-off at KCOM Craven Park.
Tigers head coach Daryl Powell said: “Playing two games in a week is never ideal for any club and for ourselves and Hull KR to have the opportunity to move their fixture to the Challenge Cup quarter-final weekend was an opportunity we just had to take, in the interest of player welfare and for both clubs to play the best quality Rugby League on the day.”
Ticketing and travel details will be confirmed later this week.
