FORMER Castleford, Wigan and Warrington forward John Clark has died in Chorley at the age of 71.

He had suffered from Alzheimer’s for a number of years.

Clark played for Castleford in the 1960s, making over 50 first-team appearances.

He was transferred to Wigan in 1965 and then moved to Warrington where a knee injury ended his career.

Clark kicked the winning goal for Warrington in the last minute of a Challenge Cup second round tie against Featherstone Rovers in 1966.

He leaves a widow and three sons.
