The Christmas fun night proved another success with £195 raised and fans given an insight into how things are progressing with the Tigers in pre-season.

New boys Gale and McMeeken, who have joined from Bradford and London respectively, gave an update on pre-season so far, how they are settling in at their new club, training and last week’s raining camp in the Yorkshire Dales.

Both said they were really enjoying the step up in intensity and friendliness of everyone at the club.

They also said how all the players were ready to play in the pre-season warm-ups coming up.

Steve Gill told supporters how the club had tracked Gale and McMeeken for a while and were really excited about having them in the 2015 squad.

He gave an update on season tickets sales, which now stood at 3,750, and the reason for the colour change for the new home shirts, which has resulted in increased sales.

Gill also spoke about improved training facilities at the club and how the Tigers wanted to be at the heart of the community.

The club are supporting a food bank, based at the Smawthorne Community Church, Beancroft Road, which is being run by volunteers from the church, with support from the churches of Castleford.

Castleford Tigers have a collection point in the Tiger Bar at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle and this will be open until this Friday.

Steve said: “Christmas is an important time of year when we all come together with our loved ones, friends and family, but it’s important we don’t forget about those less fortunate than ourselves at this time.

“Our 2015 season tickets became available for collection from Monday from the Tiger Bar at the Jungle and we’re asking all fans if they can to bring along a non-perishable food donation.”

The Christmas fun night continued with bingo and a Tigers quiz and the CTSC thanked everyone who attended as well as Wayne Pickup and the Black Swan staff for the food and help with the set up.
