A SENIOR member of club sponsors Wish Communications has joined the Castleford Tigers executive management board.

Ben Parker who works as director of sales – north - for the national communications specialists will sit on the EMB alongside fellow associate directors Gill Taylor, Ian Garforth and Martin Lea and senior managers Craig Poskitt (head of commercial sales), Alex Green (head of community) and Phil Ellerby (head of finance).

Ben’s involvement will be to help Craig Poskitt to further increase the club’s commercial revenue.

On joining the club, Ben said:“I’ve identified the club’s commercial potential as one of its clear strengths.

“I’m convinced that Castleford Tigers, with its existing sponsorship portfolio and new stadium around the corner, has the potential to be the biggest club commercially in Super League.

“If we can continue to develop our commercial infrastructure and achieve this goal then I have no doubt that we will be able to reflect this on the pitch with a squad that brings the glory days back to Cas.

“We are determined to bring in additional income to make funds available for the new coach so that he has a team able to challenge for honours at the point we get to the new stadium.

“My strengths are in growing a sales force from scratch and turning a grass roots business into a flagship one in its industry. I want to do this with Cas and with the loyal support of the fans combined with a new stadium at such an unrivalled location, I have no doubt this can be achieved.”

Craig Poskitt added: “I’ve worked very closely with Ben for a couple of years now since I introduced Wish Communications to the club and I’m delighted that he has accepted our offer of a place on the executive management board.

“During his association with the club whilst representing Wish Communications, Ben has become increasingly passionate about the Tigers and the undoubted un-tapped potential that this club has to move forward with.

“His knowledge and drive will be priceless in ensuring we realise the potential that the move to the new stadium presents.”

Richard Wright, chief executive, also welcomed Ben’s arrival: “Wish is a highly successful award winning company that has achieved tremendous growth, particularly under Ben in the north of England.

“He has developed a real affinity with the club and clearly wants to make us successful.

“Building on the strong platform already created by Craig and by working with him, the additional presence of Ben will considerably increase our ability to generate commercial revenues and to grow the business. We are really excited to be working with him.”
