Coach Daryl Powell was bitterly disappointed with Castleford’s display in Thursday’s 22-0 defeat at Huddersfield Giants.
The Tigers suffered their fourth loss in five games after a poor show in attack and defence.
“We couldn’t really find our game. We were poor from start to finish,” said Powell.
“We never got out of first gear and obviously we’ve got to find out the reasons for that. It was a really disappointing effort.
“We need to find a way through this. It’s not been a great start to the season.
“I thought we had turned the corner last week against Wigan but today shows we still have some issues .
“There was a real lack of application across the board. Huddersfield beat us pretty much everywhere. I don’t think we got on top in any area and obviously we’ve got to learn some lessons and do it quick because the tough games keep rolling round.
“We have Salford next week and that will be tough. They will be watching that tonight and rubbing their hands together so our boys have got to find a little bit more than what they delivered tonight.”
