Castleford Tigers full-back Jordan Tansey has been banned for three games and fined £300 after being found guilty of a Grade C offence of making deliberate physical contact with a match official in the game against Hull FC last Sunday.

Tansey was charged by the RFL over a 31st minute incident when he pushed referee Tim Roby.

Tigers head coach Daryl Powell is disappointed to lose one of his players for the next three matches.

He said: “He pushed the referee in the back. I don’t think he meant to do it by any stretch, but it’s little bit hard how he pushes him.

“Obviously you can’t make contact with the referee, sometimes it’s unavoidable and Jordan’s put a little bit too much force into his back. I don’t think he’s meant to, he’s just trying to stop him making contact really.

“He’s obviously a good quality player, but we’ve got Luke Dorn to come back into the team. He’s been playing pretty well.

“But obviously you don’t want players suspended, it’s not what we’re about.”
