CASTLEFORD Tigers have been given permission to field loan players Rob Parker and Ben Davies in Sunday’s Challenge Cup quarter-final against Huddersfield.

The Tigers signed Parker and Davies on month-long deals from Salford and Wigan respectively due to a shortage of prop forwards in their squad.

Coach Terry Matterson was unable to call upon front-rowers Craig Huby, Nick Fozzard, Johnathan Walker and Jake Emmitt to injury.

Both Parker and Davies were try-scorers for the Yorkshire club in Saturday’s 26-20 Super League win over Crusaders in Wrexham.

Now the pair have been cleared by their parent clubs to feature against the Giants at the PROBIZ Coliseum this weekend.

Castleford chief executive Richard Wright said: “I’d like to thank both Salford and Wigan for allowing us to consider the players for selection.

“I can’t remember a bigger game take place at the PROBIZ Coliseum in many years and having both available to play is a significant boost for our chances.”
