Castleford Tigers have signed veteran forward Danny Tickle on a contract until the end of this season.
Tickle, 33. made his Super League debut for Halifax in 2000 and has also appeared in the top-flight for Wigan Warriors, Hull and Widnes Vikings.
He was released by Widnes earlier this year and said: “I’m really grateful Castleford have given me the opportunity to get back into the game. I’m here until the end of the season and it’s my opportunity to prove myself and my capabilities,
“I’ve played many a time down here at Castleford, it’s a very tough place to come and they have got a great set of players here, with obviously really good coaching staff.
“The background, and everything about the club is really exciting. I’m looking forward to getting straight into training this week.”
Tigers coach Daryl Powell said: “We have taken the opportunity to sign a high quality player who has come available at a time in the season when we have had significant injuries.
“I want to make sure all of our players are on their toes in every position and the signing of Danny Tickle enhances our squad depth with a player of proven quality at the highest level. I’m delighted to welcome Danny to Castleford.”
