Castleford Tigers are looking for a new head of youth development after Richard Tunningley stepped down to take up a position as under 19s coach with the Bradford Bulls.

Tunningley, who has been in the role since May after moving from player performance manager, will join the coaching staff at the Bulls from November 1.

Tigers’ chief executive Steve Gill said: “I’d like to place on record our thanks to Richard for his service to the club since he joined in 2009.

“We understand his reasons for wanting to move on and everyone at Castleford Tigers wishes him all the best in his future career.

“We will be making announcements in due course regarding both the head of youth development and player performance manager positions.”

Tunningley said: “This is a great opportunity for me to come to the Bulls.

“I have been very impressed with the structures that Paul Medley and Francis Cummins have put in place and also the calibre of the juniors at the club.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Castleford and thank them for the opportunity they gave me, but I feel now that the time is right to further my career at the Bulls.”
