Featherstone Rovers coach Andy Hay singled out Jordan Baldwinson for praise after Sunday’s pre-season match at Batley Bulldogs.

Young prop Baldwinson, who is on a season-long loan from Leeds Rhinos, was one of the few Rovers players to impress in a 26-6 defeat.

“Baldwinson was an outstanding performer,” said Hay.

“He looks a really good player and that coincides with what he does in training.

“He trains hard and commits himself to everything fully. He wants to learn and he gives his all in training and he brought that into last Sunday’s game.

“I think his preparation proves that when you do things right and prepare well and are prepared to work hard in the game you get your rewards.

“He was unlucky to be on the losing side because he was by far our best player.”
