FEATHERSTONE’S home ground will now be known as the LD Nutrition Stadium.
The change of name from the Big Fellas Stadium follows the club’s record-breaking new partnership with LD Nutrition.
After becoming the Rovers’ official nutrition partner earlier this year, LD Nutrition have agreed a sizeable three-year contract, investing a significant financial sum to become a key shirt sponsor from 2018 and Featherstone’s principal naming rights partner with immediate effect.
LD Nutrition, founded last year in the heart of Featherstone, is one of the UK’s fastest-growing companies in their field, continuing to expand with new stores opening across the county.
Supplying fresh, healthy and tailored food to support a wide variety of dietary needs, LD Nutrition parter a host of professional organisations and sports clubs.
Rovers general manager Davide Longo said: “We have formed a fantastic partnership with LD Nutrition and this announcement represents a fresh and exciting new chapter within it.
“LD Nutrition have been fuelling our playing squad for some time now and the relationship has grown into what we have here today - the LD Nutrition Stadium!
“Lee (Westerman) and Dawn (Hepworth) (directors of LD Nutrition) are long-standing supporters of Featherstone Rovers and it has been a goal of theirs to become a part of the club, so this is a proud moment for them.
“LD Nutrition are seeking a return on what is a significant level of investment on their part and we fully intend to deliver one.
“As a still relatively young business, brand awareness is high on their agenda. They saw the chance to take over the naming rights of our stadium as a major opportunity to help boost their level of growth.
“We have been working hard to forge a raft of new commercial partnerships, right across the club, and this is an example of another great one coming together.
“This is a long-term commercial agreement and one which will prove extremely beneficial for both parties, with LD Nutrition already looking at eventually moving on site here as part of their own expansion plans for the future.
“It is a great privilege to be working with such a forward-thinking organisation. We are moving into an exciting new era at Featherstone Rovers and everyone is thrilled to be welcoming another big player to the table.”
Lee Westerman, head chef and owner of LD Nutrition, said: “This means a great deal. It is a massive thing for us to be a part of.
“We have been working with the Rovers for a while now but this was an opportunity we could not afford to turn down.
“To be able to have our brand aligned with such a famous name in rugby league is absolutely fantastic.
“We have cornered a small area of West Yorkshire at this early stage but we are looking to progress into the rest of the county and further afield.
“We believe, working with Featherstone Rovers, we can grow and develop our company while supporting LD Nutrition’s hometown team.
“Our goal is to create a chain of LD Nutrition outlets across the north of England, ensuring people get on the right track, eating healthy, and this is another great step forward for us.
“To have the naming rights of the Rovers’ stadium is extremely exciting for us and we hope to see our name up in lights come the end of the season.”
