FEATHERSTONE Rovers have parted company with 21-year-old utility player Danny Allan by ‘mutual consent.’

The former Leeds Rhinos player (pictured) joined Featherstone on a two-year contract in October, 2009.

Last season, he made only six first-team appearances for Rovers, including two as a substitute, and had spells on loan at Doncaster and York.

Rovers coach Daryl Powell said: “Danny Allan has left the club by mutual consent and needs to find himself another club.

“It was disappointing for both parties that it didn’t work out how we wanted it to but these things happen and we’ve both got to move on. Danny has just had a shoulder operation and he’ll be looking to get himself fit and back into the game.”

Meanwhile, Rovers have launched a new match day hospitality package for their league season, called “The Champagne Moment.”

A person and their guest select the most memorable moment during the game by a Featherstone Rovers player and present that player with a bottle of champagne. As part of the package, the participant also gets to take home their own bottle of champagne.

The full package includes match day hospitality for two people including a three-course meal (two courses and wine for evening games), match day programme, mention in the match day magazine and PA announcement, presentation of a bottle of champagne to chosen Featherstone Rovers player and a bottle of champagne to take home.

The package cost is £200 plus VAT. To book call Paul Taylor on 01977-702386 or email paul.taylor@featherstonerovers.net

Latest £500 winners in the Rovers treasure chest lottery are L Cropper (M6038), S Leonard (A4642), K Hopkins (W5898), A Arnett (L4865), S Merson (N6369). Junction meal voucher: P Swinson (V2613). £5 consolation prizes: A Littlewood (V3224), D Bell (V0831), C Mitchell (V4233), P Levey (V0241), P Riley (W3914), R Evans (V3914).

The open-age amateur RL Yorkshire Cup final between Drighlington and Queens will be staged at Featherstone’s Bigfellas Stadium this Sunday. Admission is £5 for adults and £2 concessions.
