Finn leads Featherstone’s points spree

LIAM Finn piled up 32 points as Featherstone Rovers trounced Oldham 68-0 in last night’s re-arranged Northern Rail Cup match at Whitebank Stadium.

Finn (pictured) bagged three tries and kicked 10 goals as Championship-winners Rovers cut loose in the second-half to start their Northern Rail Cup campaign in great style.

They were only 14-0 ahead at the break but ran riot in the second period, adding 54 points against outclassed Championship One opponents.

Finn’s half-back partner Andy Kain also grabbed a hat-trick of tries and Jonny Grayshon and Ian Hardman each collected two touchdowns.

Samoan international Tangi Ropati, making his debut, and Greg Worthington were Featherstone’s other try scorers in a match watched by 672 spectators.
