FEATHERSTONE Rovers were given a huge boost yesterday when play-maker Liam Finn signed a new two-year deal.
The 27-year-old half-back or hooker (pictured) has been a key man for Rovers in his second spell with the club since he rejoined them from Dewsbury Rams.
His current contract runs out at the end of this season.
Finn won the Championship player of the season award last year and the previous season he was named Championship One player of the year when he helped Dewsbury win promotion.
The Irish international has also played for Wakefield Wildcats and Halifax.
Rovers coach Daryl Powell said: “I know there were a few question marks from people when we signed him but he has been unbelievable for us and I think he is still developing in terms of his control of the game.
“He fits so neatly into the way we want to play that it’s a perfect match really.
“His control of the way we play the game has been exceptional over the last two years and obviously we are delighted to have him on board for a further two years.
“He’s an outstanding player at this level.
“He has won two player of year awards in the last two seasons for the whole competition he has played in so he’s a pretty valued player.”
