FEATHERSTONE Rovers maintained their impressive pre-season form by trouncing Super Leaguers Leeds 40-18 at Bigfellas Stadium in front of a crowd of 2,134 on Sunday.

Rovers powered to their fourth straight win this month with a classy seven-try display against a strong Rhinos side.

Only three of Leeds’s starting line up had not played in Super League but they were given the runaround by a slick Rovers outfit inspired by Liam Finn.

Last season’s Championship player of the season Finn directed play superbly and landed five goals.

Rovers led 22-0 at half-time and although Leeds staged a second-half recovery they finished well beaten.

Featherstone’s try scorers were Matty Dale (pictured), Greg Worthington, Tony Tonks, Bryn Powell, Ian Hardman, Tommy Saxton and Tom Hemingway.

The only setback for Rovers was that they picked up several injuries.

Ross Divorty was on crutches after the match after he sustained a serious-looking knee injury. The full extent will not be known until after he has a scan.

Stuart Dickens will require an operation on a cut ear and close-season signing Andy Bostock suffered a facial injury.
