FEATHERSTONE Rovers have appointed Paul Taylor as their new commercial manager.

Taylor, a a graduate of Leeds Business School, said: “I’ve been a Rovers fan all my life, and started working on a voluntary basis when the previous commercial manager left the post. I kind of made the job my own. I just grew into it before I knew it. I must have made the right impression because the club have given me the gig on a full time basis.”

“We want our sponsors to get value from being our partners, not just in the direct experience we offer them - something which we think is excellent - but in more abstract ways.

“We feel we can help sponsors in more abstract, yet still highly effective ways; through our own network of contacts, our own expertise, and our name.”

One of Taylor’s fortes is regeneration, having worked in that sphere since leaving university. He is determined to put that expertise to good use for Rovers.

He said: “I worked for five years at a re-generation consultants in Barnsley. We helped organisations source funding. I then worked for ‘Wakefield First’. I have the right skills, contacts and background to source funding to help Rovers with their infrastructure and community initiatives -The Rovers’ Foundation for instance.”
