Featherstone Rovers coach Jon Sharp says there were ‘impressive individual performances’ in Sunday’s 47-22 win over Sheffield Eagles at Belle Vue, Wakefield.
Rovers bounced back from a shock home defeat against Richdale with a victory that put them two points clear in second place in the Kingstone Press Championship.
“It was pleasing to put the defeat to Rochdale behind us, there were some impressive individual performances,” said Sharp.
“Anthony Thackeray was really strong, Keal Carlile played an amazing game at hooker and Matty Wildie responded superbly after a disappointing performance last time out. He really stood up.
“For a period it was you score, we score, but we tightened things up in the end and gradually took control of the game, which was pleasing.
‘We just have to keep pulling together and performing, and the results will follow. There are still bits for us to work on.
“We will continue to improve but it is another victory in the bag and we can now look forward to some Challenge Cup action at Bradford on Sunday.”
