CRAIG Poskitt is switching sides from Castleford Tigers to Featherstone Rovers after being appointed as their new chief executive.
Poskitt, who has been head of commercial sales with the Tigers for the past five years, was unveiled to shareholders at the Featherstone Rovers AGM on Monday evening and will start his role at the club on Monday, March 5.
He takes over from Simon Riley and in joining the club is seen as a key appointment in Featherstone’s ambition to bring top flight Rugby League back to the Bigfellas Stadium.
On his new appointment Craig said: “I am extremely honoured and privileged to take up this role, with the on field success of the team matched by the ambition from the board of directors this is a club with a very exciting future.”
Featherstone Rovers chairman Mark Campbell said: “We are very pleased with the appointment of Craig as our new CEO.
“I’ve known Craig for a number of years through his involvement at Castleford Tigers and I have been impressed with what he has achieved there.
“I feel Craig’s appointment will prove just as successful as that of Daryl Powell’s and further highlights our intent on achieving a Super League franchise.”
Poskitt, along with the newly appointed board of directors and existing personnel at Featherstone Rovers, will be the driving force behind the Destination Super League bid.
