FEATHERSTONE Rovers have received an injury boost, with news that key player Martyn Ridyard is expected to feature again this season.
The former Super League star was struck down by a shoulder injury last month that threatened to end his first campaign with Rovers.
Scans revealed the stand-off required surgery, but he has now undergone it and as a result Ridyard is aiming to return to Rovers action in August when the club hope to be in the Super League Qualifiers.
Featherstone head coach John Duffy said: “This is a big boost for us and it will be great to welcome Martyn back during the Super 8s.
“His rehabilitation will begin straight away and he will be in the best-possible hands over the next couple of months.
“Our medical staff have already been working closely with him and he will be able to maintain solid fitness levels, making his return as swift as possible.”
Ridyard joined Featherstone from Leigh for this season and has proved to be a top class signing and still one of the best half-backs in the Championship.
