FEATHERSTONE Rovers recovered from their 70-0 Challenge Cup thrashing at St Helens by beating Dewsbury Rams 38-18 in Sunday’s Co-operative Championship game at Tetley’s Stadium.

Rovers gave a magnificent first-half display to lead 32-0 at half-time.

They weathered Dewsbury’s second-half fightback to stretch their unbeaten league run to eight matches since they lost their opening match at Leigh Centurions.

Second-placed Rovers are six points behind Leigh who have played one more game.

Matty Dale (pictured), Andy Bostock, Stuart Dickens, Tim Spears, Michael Haley and Kirk Netherton scored tries and Liam Finn kicked four goals as Rovers totally dominated the opening 40 minutes.

Dewsbury made the scoreline more respectable with second-half tries from Ayden Faals, Dominic Brambani and Elliott Cosgrove.

Featherstone’s only further points came from Ross Divorty’s touchdown and Finn’s fifth goal.
