Featherstone Rovers centre Michael Channing is battling to be fit to face his former club London Broncos in Saturday’s Ladbrokes Challenge Cup fourth round tie at West Ealing.
Channing missed last Sunday’s 30-10 win at Swinton Lions after pulling out in the warm-up with a hamstring injury.
“We are hopeful Channing will play - we think he should be right. I think he’s pretty keen to play but we’ve got to be smart with it,” said Rovers coach Jon Sharp.
“We are winning at the minute and the players all want to get out on the field.”
Tim Spears (calf injury) is again doubtful and Steve Snitch is still sidelined after a slight setback following minor knee surgery.
“Snitch had an injection to help with the after effects of the operation and it’s inflammed his knee so it’s knocked him back another week,” said Sharp.
Rovers will not have any dual-registered players from Leeds Rhinos for Saturday’s game because the Super League club will want to avoid having them cup-tied.
